(v0.1)
Tutorial

This
is a much
easier
and cheaper
way to
set up
an external
hdd for
your Xbox.
This
leads
to easy
to an
easy way
to switch
from HD
to HD.
Needed:
HDD power
supply
extension
($2.99
at radio
shack)
Nail file,
or strong
wire cutter
Follow
this “How
to fully
open an
Xbox lid”
tutorial
until
you get
up to
part 4.
(once
you have
the hdd
case removed
stop.
Now remove
the Hdd
from the
case it
is held
in.

Place
the case
back inside
with out
the HDD
in it.

Right
behind
the DVD
drive
there
is a little
piece
of plastic
that sticks
up, simply
file or
cut it
down.
Like this:

Now
connect
the power
supply
cord extension
to the
power
supply
cord,
and place
it and
the ide
cable
over the
area you
just filed
down:

Now
take your
xbox lid,
flip it
over,
you will
see the
metal
things
that stick
out, fold
the them
over on
the back
of it
were the
ide cable
and power
supply
cable
come out
of the
xbox

Now
place
the lid
back on
and put
the screws
back in.

The
Ide cable
and power
cord fit
perfectly.
Connect
them back
into the
HD, Put
the hd
in a case
(I used
the HD
case inside
my ps2,
seems
like I
won’t
need that
anytime
soon)
and your
done.

Notes:
I found
this much
easier
than going
threw
the side
on the
Xbox and
since
I couldn’t
find a
round
Ide cable
anywhere,
this was
much better.
If you
did this
correctly
the cords
should
fit perfectly.
*Also,
I do not
recommend
just leaving
the HD
on top
of the
Xbox,
put it
in a case
and if
possible
with a
fan, it
heats
up so
fast it
melted
the gloss
I put
on my
Xbox paint
job
