This
tutorial
is pretty
basic,
but is
damn useful
when you
think
that if
your Xbox
fan blows
up, you
will not
know until
your game
freezes
up while
you’re
playing!
HOW
IT WORKS
I discovered
in my
local
JAYCAR
(http://www.jaycar.com.au)
store
(Australian
electronics
store)
a simple
device
that will
sound
a 90db
tone whenever
there
is no
power
being
supplied
to a small
fan. It
is about
the size
of a 10c
coin and
includes
the 2
connectors
needed
and a
little
bit of
double
sided
tape if
you wanna
use it.
(I didn’t
bother).

INSTALLATION
Installation
is a pretty
simple
idea.
1. Take
apart
your Xbox
right
down to
the motherboard
(look
elsewhere
in the
tutorials)
2. Unplug
your existing
fan from
your motherboard
(you can
either
choose
to alarm
your cpu
fan if
you have
an old
xbox,
or your
case fan)
3. connect
the alarm
device
into the
motherboard
socket
4. connect
the other
end to
the fan.
5. DONE
You
will notice
when you
turn on
your xbox,
there
will be
a small
tone for
a second
or 2,
this is
normal,
and just
lets you
know if
the buzzer
is working.
