Ok
here’s
a tutorial
for anyone
that was
brave
enough
to try
and flash
there
mod-chip
and it
all went
tits up.
Following
this guide
will save
your Mod
Chip (Don't
Bin it)
What
you will
need:
* Two
"Torx"
screw
drivers
sizes
10 &
20
* A spare
mod-chip
(the same
as the
one you
own Xecuter2-Pro
/Lite
/ Matrix)
either
buy one
or borrow
a friends
one (there
cheap
to purchase
paying
someone
for shipping
and fitting
it in
the XBOX
was the
expensive
part)
* A copy
of Evolution
X (Slayers
is best,
you probably
have it
if you
got in
this mess
in the
first
place)
* Common
Sense
Ok lets
get started;
presumably
you’ve
never
seen the
inside
of the
XBOX as
everything
was fitted
for you
etc
Safety
1st lets
unclip
the mod-chip
switch
from the
side of
your XBOX
simply
by easing
the white
clip (with
the cables)
from the
pcb, this
will save
strain
on the
cables
etc when
we lift
the lid.
Turn
your XBOX
upside
down,
you will
see 4
rubber
feet peel
them back,
don't
worry
they stick
back on.
Under
each foot
you will
find a
screw.
Now rub
a pencil
in the
top left
corner
of the
white
sticker
that says
Microsoft
Corporation
you will
see a
dent appear
there,
that’s
right
there’s
another
screw
there.
Try the
same process
on the
silver
sticker
that says
XBOX Video
Game System
just above
the CE
logo.
Ok now
undo all
the screws
6 in total
use your
Torx 20
to unscrew
these.
Now keep
the 4
feet and
6 Screws
safe.
Now Xbox
right
side up
carefully
lift the
lid on
your little
black
joy machine
(take
care you
don't
know what
wires
may pull
on your
chip etc)
Phew
what a
sight
you will
now see
you DVD-drive
(left)
and HDD,
remove
the IDE-cable
on the
back on
the HDD
Now locate
the screw
in between
DVD-drive
and HDD
black
fixing
plate
use your
Torx10
the fixing
plate
also undo
the 2
along
the front
of the
DVD-drive
(Torx10
again)
Halfway
there
Now we
need to
remove
the HDD
first
it will
simply
lift out,
make sure
the power
cable
/ IDE-Cable
isn't
blocking
you (Remove
them if
you wish)
With
the HDD
removed
we can
now repeat
the same
for the
DVD-drive
Ok so
now you
should
see if
you follow
that mod
chip cable
we unclipped
1st your
actual
mod-chip
(the problem
causer)
Unclip
the cables
from both
sides
top and
bottom,
ease them
off.
Now using
your spare
or friends
Mod Chip
put that
the chain
where
you one
used to
be.
Now reconnect
your HDD
/ DVD-drive
power
&
IDE cables
and attach
the switch
to your
new mod-chip.
Ok ensure
the switches
are "ENABLED"
&
"PROTECT"
(the banks
don't
make a
difference)
Ok power
up the
XBOX (be
careful,
that lids
off and
you could
get a
shock
if your
leaning
on your
XBOX)
Ensure
that you’re
Evolution
X or Bios
flasher
disc is
inserted
Ok the
disc will
load now
switch
the chip
to off
and pull
out your
new /
friends
mod chip
(ember
not to
electrocute
yourself)
Put your
Mod chip
back into
the equation
BEFORE
connecting
ensure
the switches
are "DISABLED"
&
"UNPROTECT"
(the banks
don't
make a
difference)
Now ENABLE
your Mod
chip and
select
on Evolution
X the
flash
bios option,
select
the appropriate
file (Don't
Choose
the one
that got
you In
this mess)
you will
see a
progress
bar (takes
5 seconds
or so)
Ok that’s
the job
done we
hope
Power
off then
on your
XBOX if
all is
well then
you should
load Evolution
x as its
still
in your
drive
and you
will know
your Mod
chips
back online
:)
Power
off your
XBOX,
now at
this point
seeing
as you
have the
box open
you could
decide
to install
a new
HDD /
DVD Drive
or even
move the
location
of your
Mod-chip
/ switch
if you
wish
After
all who
wants
to reach
round
the back
or side
of there
XBOX every
5 minutes
you can
treadle
the switch
cable
just about
anywhere
if you
have the
patience
Once
that’s
all done
put the
DVD-Drive
with power
/ IDE
cables
back in
place
followed
by the
HDD with
power
and IDE
put the
screws
back in
and reattach
the feet
and hey
presto
your little
black
box is
alive
and kicking
again.
I hope
this helps
anyone
in the
same boat
