Xecuter2.1 Pro final design
>> Team Xecuter sent us pictures/info of the final design of the Xecuter2.1 Pro , a revision of the Xecuter2.0 Pro.

From Team Xecuter:
As we come to the end of the X2 series of mods we decided to do a few small fixes and adjustments, mostly things we were not 100% happy with in the original version and also suggestions from the public.
The Lite and Lite Plus have also gone through similar design changes, these can be found on our main website in detail. Thank you for your support, we will see you very soon with our next exciting projects.

i) Added new external switch module
ii) External module includes LED to display mod enable / disable
iii) External module designed to fit under the front lip of the case
iv) New internal module for improved X2 > External LPR Interface
v) Shorter FCC cable - more durable, much more reliable
vi) FCC cable and LPT port can be disconnected - mod still 100% functional
vii) 2 x hyper Blue LEDs on mod. No reason - just looks cool :)
The Xecuter2.1 Lite was already finished earlier and it's a matter of days before you will find it in the stores.

New Xbox version?
>> We received this news from Team Xecuter (http://teamxecuter.com/):
It seems there is a new Xbox RC4 key

Is packaged same as the SE Green but is standard black case with JAP S type controller

Just released in Europe - machine frags with current bios's / mods

Motherboard looks identical to v1.2

As soon as Xecuter get their hands on it you can expect to see an "X3" bios for that version of console shortly after.

We will of course confirm the RC4 (or possible other) change as soon as we see the board ourselves but is confirmed from three reliable sources now.

MAMEoX v0.65b
>> What's new/fixed:
* Fixed a slight glitch in rendering where a grey/white bar would show on the left and right of the rendered frame.
* Fixed Sound, I think sound is nearly if not 100% correct, it sounds exactly like my win32 port of MAME as far as I can tell anyway. Also, sound will output to all available speakers, sounds better if you have a 5.1 system IMHO.
* Fixed the XDK file debacle, now any files that the project references from the xdk will now work on any xdk as long as the xdk defined the environment variable XDK to point to the base dir of the xdk (I think all current xdks do this).
* Removed all _RPTx macro calls as they apparently don't properly send to xboxwatson.
* Added Network settings to INI file
* Added File Path settings to the INI file
* Moved INI file to always be in U:\4d414d45\INI\MAMEoX.ini
* Added SMB support for loading files (ROMS!!) from smb shares format of smb share is exactly like xbox media player, i.e. smb://user:password@computer/sharedirectory as of this release files can only be READ from shares, not Written
* Changed file handling to not cache files into memory but rather load them like the mame core does (not sure if this saves memory or not, can't hurt though.)
Check the full changelog.

Media X Menu 0.9l
>> Whats New/Fixed:
* New strings:TempSys, TempCPU, TempSysF, TempSysC, TempCPUF, TempCPUC, BIOSMD5, BIOSName, CurrentSubMenu, TrayState(Open/Closed/Init), DVDType(Identifies the type of disc currently inserted: Game, Movie, Unknown, Empty)
Name(Identifies the nickname), CurrentSong, CurrentSoundtrack NumFTPUsers, DefaultGateway (These new IPs do not have 'dressing' - add with Compound Strings), SubnetMask, DNS1, DNS2
* FTPServer was "slightly rewritten" - J.P.Patches core was great, I just re-did it using a bit more robust string object (no overflows) and added XML configuration. Some testing was done, looks OK. PASV mode still going to be an issue.
* Made improvements to speed on FTP uploads and downloads
* In the skins, multiple image resources can be randomly selected from at bootup. See the skinning guide for details.(This is untested)

Cxbx 0.7.0
>> Cxbx is a Xbox emulator in the works by caustik

Whats New/Fixed:
* Magically shrunk cxbx.dll/cxbx.exe file sizes enormously!
* Added Controller Input and Configuration!
* Added Recent Xbe/Exe file menus
* Support __declspec(thread) style TLS
* Fixed GUI color issues
* Massive code re-organization.
* Sooo many random optimizations
* Went lower level with certain components of emulation. Progress should speed up.
* Some Xbe parsing and debug output fixes. You should now be able to deal with the slightly odd Linux Xbe files.
* Much better emulation exception handling

Also, caustik made a new demo to go along with this release, but will not be posted because it was built with the XDK
This version does *NOT* play any retail games.

XisoManager v1.3.1
>> What's new/fixed:
* Extract file bug was fixed, although it called that way, it was not realy a abug, rather a small mistake of mine, in which i forgot to direct the program to the exact sector of the file. (thnx to Fused for reporting that one)
* Some checking routines added, to check if the user by mistake tries to open standard ISO 9660 rather then XSIO, or if the file not ISO at all.
keeping the user from having a mistake and trying to burn NON XISO file, and by this way loose media.

Work In Progress: FBAX B4
>> From http://www.lantus-x.com/FBAx/:
FBAx B4 is going to be a big project for a number of reasons.

First of all we have decided to split the main executable up into seperate executables for each system. This is mainly beacuse in B3 we had to modifiy one of the Cave games driver code to use less memory than the windows version indicating that we are running out of memory. This will be especially true if the rumored Neogeo support makes it in to the next windows version of FBA, or if all the WIP drivers that members of the FBA team are working on make it in (see here for some ideas of what might make it in to the next windows version : http://fbl.emuunlim.com and here . There will of course still only be one main menu, but it will now have to load the specific executable for the system being emulated. We are hoping this will give us more memory but its going to be a little hard to tell how much more until the FBA team release the next version.

Secondly, with a bit of luck, we will have all new video code in the next version. It is hoped that the new video code will support some of the video features of the windows FBA (RGB effects, phospher feedback, maybe 3D projection). It is suspected that some of these options will only be suitable for people who use VGA or a PC TV card as a TV may not correctly render the image. We will see how this pans out.

Finally, we are looking in to fixing all the issues reported with B3 as well as a few adding a few new features here and there.

Also we don't have any sort of time scale for the next release but at this point it is expected to be months rather than weeks.
