SMSPlus port for XBOX
>> Another port to Xbox : SMSPlus (Sega Master System & GameGear emulator)
" - Put ROMs in \SMSROMS
- Should work the same on both PAL/NTSC systems
- Seems to be some frame issues - still ironing out, but just about everything
plays beautifully. Sounds great too.
- Zip support
- Search for cheat codes. (*REAL* easy - I made unlimited lives and invincibility
codes for Sonic the Hedgehog 1 (GG) in about 5 minutes.)
Don't try to enter Game Genie codes for Game Gear. Those codes only affect the ROM
image instead of patching RAM so they won't work.
Sonic Hedgehog Unlimited Lives - 01024012
Invincible - 01010912
- Pretty much all the same stuff as Gnuboy.
Enjoy!"

Cnet article
>> Cnet wrote something about the first Xbox program that is not using the MS Xbox SDK :
"Michael Steil, a German programmer, has built an application called linuxpreview, which simply flashes the Xbox LED (light-emitting diode) and draws a penguin on the Xbox start-up screen, along with the message "Xbox Linux Coming Soon!" and a link to the Xbox Linux Web site. However, it is touted as the first application to run on Xbox without using tools from the official Xbox Software Development Kit (SDK), and is the first step toward turning the Xbox into a Linux-based PC.
Steil is the head of the Xbox Linux Project, which is marshalling volunteers to figure out a way to run Linux--which directly competes with Microsoft's Windows operating system--on the console without using any of Microsoft's proprietary development tools. In some ways, the project should be simple, since Xbox is built from hardware that is identical or similar to a standard Intel-based PC."

GNUboy Release 2

Now using a smaller font for the game listing so the long names can fit on screen
Removed extra lines on right and bottom of game screen

Compatibility as good as Gnuboy (which is pretty much everything) and
all games run at 60fps with full sound."
X-ecuter with EvoX Bios
>> X-ecuter updated their website :
"Update: props to evolution-x on their hdd patch. We have added this to the final x-ecuter mod so you can enjoy evolution-x's fine tools. Again props guys."
New Tutorial

Dysfunctions flasher + Tetris3D + Daphne
>> I found this news on xboxhacker.net :
"The dysfunction's flash app source will be released soon, also a 3d tetris game is in the works by an unknown author. In other news a port of daphne is in the works (more on the orginal daphen here.) And last but not least a 3d menu replacement for evox is also in development, just keeping you guys updated =P"
Flashing The Xbox’s TSOP
>> SniperKilla made a very good tutorial explaining how you could flash the Xbox TSOP (internal XBOX BIOS) with EvolutionX/Dysfunctions Flasher.
You will still need a modchip installed (to boot EvoX/Dysfunctions Flasher) & some soldering but once your internal BIOS is flashed you won't need an "external" modchip anymore and you'll be able to upgrade your BIOS easily (with software).
Check out the tutorial here.
NOTE:When flashing your internal BIOS you erase your retail BIOS , so make sure you know what you are doing before trying this hack.
Devil mod v0.11
>> We received a sample of the GRmod Devil mod v0.11.
It's an Xtender1.1 clone with 29wires and a build-in bios switch (XT1.1 - Retail).
Installation & diagrams can be found here.
We will try to install the chip later.
GNUboy port to Xbox
>> GNUboy is a GameBoy (Color) emulator that has been ported to Xbox.
From the nfo :
"Gnuboy port to the XBox v1
I added Gameshark functionality to Gnuboy as well as a custom cheat-code searching engine. It's a little clumsy, but it gets the job done.
Oh - if you're inputting gameshark codes, don't worry about the first two digits. For example, if you see a gameshark code called "910599c3" go ahead and put in "010599c3". It should have the same effect.
TODO: Add support for ZIP files
Fix sound - same kind of problem as with Stella - really annoying
If all the GB/GBC roms cannot fit on a DVD-R, then I'll definitely add ZIP file support. I'm almost positive they'll fit uncompressed, however.
Enjoy! "
Some Info about EvolutionX
>> Some FAQ's
* Do I need the EvolutionX bios ?
All EvolutionX features work fine on Enigmah & Xtender , only the HDD swap feature needs an EvolutionX Bios.
* How can I install the EvoltionX Bios ?
You can install a homebrew modchip with the image of one of the EvolutionX bios versions or you can flash the internal xbox BIOS with the EvoX software (more info about this , check here)
* Do I need a modchip to launch the EvoX disc ?
All unsigned code needs a modchips , so yes you need one to launch EvoX.
* Can I backup original xbox DVDs with Evox ?
yes , you can put them on the Xbox HD (on e: or f:) and launch them from there , but you can aswell download them to your PC and burn them on a DVD. (might need some xbepatching).
* Can I nuke my xbox ?
Yes , if you don't know what you are doing it's easy to destroy your xbox. Make sure you don't delete or rename files on the xbox HD without knowing what you are exactly doing.
Also be carefull while editing the EvoX .ini file. (or your xbox might not boot again).
MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR C: (xbox HD) before changing anything!
* Where can I find EvolutionX ?
For legal reasons It won't be posted here or on our forum. So don't request it.
For tutorials about the EvoX , check our tutorial page
For questions & answers you can also check our EvolutionX forum
First Xbox program not using MS Xbox SDK
>> The xbox-linux crew managed to make a very small working program for xbox that is NOT made using the Microsoft Xbox SDK.
The program doesn't do anything really special (it just displays a text line) , but it shows that progress is being made and that sooner or later we'll have an openSDK.
This will allow to release a bunch of software for xbox without any legal problems.
